Web Language!

Talking to native speakers can be a good way to practice English. The Internet presents countless features such as chat rooms and messengers where your skills can be improved both orally and by writing. Be careful, though: in the latter case, the abbreviations (acronyms) appear quite often! Here's a list of 10 common English abbreviations to help you understand what people have been writing - and sometimes speaking! - on the web:

BRB = Be Right Back
BTW = By the Way
CYA = See Ya (See You)
FYI = For Your Information
IMO/IMHO = In My Opinion/In My Humble Opinion
IRL = In Real Life
LOL = Laughing Out Loud
OMG = Oh, My God
TMI = Too Much Information
WTH = What the Hell

There are many more! See other examples at: www.gaarde.org/acronyms/ and watch a funny video (in English) about the acronyms: www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPltpdu9KGM.

See ya!
